Do you ever have days where everything feels just a bit too much? Your minds racing with all the things , your body’s tense, and even though you’re breathing, it feels like you haven’t really exhaled in quite some time.
That is the pattern my nervous system was often stuck in before I found Breathwork. A modality that has helped return me to myself and created space for me to be in my body in a good way.
Living with MS, I have not always wanted to be in my own body. I most often dissociated from my body and all it felt. Being in my body has felt challenging most of my life. Somatic Breathwork is a beautiful framework that has helped me to connect to myself and to be able to be within my body and feel through it all in a safe and loving way. It’s been good to claim my body, to fill that space and feel good.
So, if you relate to that frazzled nervous system scenario you’re not alone. And you might be ready to try something that brings you back home,to yourself. That’s where somatic breathwork can help.
Breathwork is accessible simple and easy to make a part of your life, because it does not require a lot of time to begin to shift your inner space to one that is grounded and calm.
So… What Is Somatic Breathwork?
At its core, somatic breathwork is about using your breath as a tool to connect with your body~your soma~and release stuck tension, stress, and emotions that may be hiding beneath the surface.
Somatic breathwork is personal. It invites you to notice what’s really going on inside your body and gives you permission to move through it, not around it.
This isn’t about pushing or fixing—it’s about listening and softening. It’s amazing how you can soften through a layer of tension and then you can soften even more. Somatic Breathwork can do that for you.
Some fabulous reasons i feel you might love Somatic Breathwork!
It helps you get out of your head and into your body. We can spend so much time in our heads thinking, worrying, analyzing. We forget the body is always there for us. Carrying our stories, emotions, and wisdom. Somatic breathwork offers a way to slow down and feel again.
You don’t need to talk about your feelings. Unlike talk therapy, somatic breathwork doesn’t require you to explain or relive anything. The breath does the heavy lifting. Emotions rise and fall, can be felt and released, without words.
Somatic Breathwork is deeply grounding.Especially if you struggle with anxiety, overthinking, or feeling disconnected, this kind of breathwork can bring you back to your center. It can feel like finally taking off a backpack you didn’t realize you were wearing.
It honors your nervous system in that Somatic breathwork works with your body, not against it. That means there’s no force, no pressure! Just you, your breath, and your pace.
It can be surprisingly emotional (in a good way). People often describe sessions as powerful, beautiful, and even life-changing. You might laugh, cry, yawn, shake or just feel an incredible sense of peace. Every session is different, and that’s the beauty of it.
I experienced many of these benefits in my three month training. I have a lot of breathwork training and find most of it valuable and versatile. I was wondering why I was taking yet another training in breathwork. What I found was, this course was for me. It was deeply nourishing and healing experience. Now I get to bring it to you! Somatic Breathwork, it’s powerful and gentle at the same time. This is why it has a special place in my heart. It’s for the weary and the lost soul. It’s for the over achiever and the sceptical fact checker. It’s for the anxious, the hurt and the tired or frustrated one. It’s for all of us because we all breathe! And when you connect the breath and body in a balanced and aware way, with a method that has worked for thousands of people. You can clear the way to flourish and thrive.
I’m in love with Somatic Breathwork and very excited to hold space for others. I have found in my training that when someone holds space for us we can really let go and connect more deeply with ourselves. There is a synergy that happens when we are guided and held so we can relax enough to let go and simply breathe and be.
